He/she knows if you don't agree with what you are being paid and decide to quit, (s)he'll simply hire another equally qualified, intellectually capable person with a great personality to replace you at the wage he/she believes is fair. Nevertheless, the title and wording delivered the wrong message. Whether you are on the defense or plaintiffs' side in a med-mal case, it is very difficult and stressful job.
