On cross-examination, the plaintiff asserted that in Canada, physical therapists are full-fledged doctors who put him in traction when he was in the hospital. Ken explains, "I kept playing Colombo, saying that I didn't know what that meant, could he please describe it for me. After several reiterations, he started describing the traction as being overhead in the bed and you had to reach up and finally he reached way up with both arms high above his shoulders. Judge Britt turned beet red and several of the jurors laughed out loud." Ken says, "I like the unexpected. You know, the preparation for trial is rigorous. I think I always over-prepared, but when you actually get in the courtroom, once that moment passes, if you did not object and then the next question is asked, it's too late.
